Here's an interesting position I just played on FICS.
Hint: Black to move and win material.
Answer can be found by highlighting between the brackets
[1. Bxe4 Bxe4
2. Nxe4 Qxe4
3. Re8 Qf3
4. Rxe3! and White cannot take the Rook back because of Bd4 pinning the Queen]
I'm thinking ...Bd4. then if white takes Bxd4 Black responds with ...Qxd4+ and the piece falls on e4
ReplyDeleteHow about NxN BxN BxB QxB Rd1 queens moves and then RxB taking advantage of the possible skewer of the black king and queen?
ReplyDeletenicely done, i love this game.
ReplyDeleteI came up with the same idea as BlunderProne, but obviously the pin on the queen is stronger and more beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI found *a* tactic but not your beautiful game-ender. Nice job! And more motivation for me to get back to CT-ART. ;)
ReplyDeleteHello everyone (esp. you likesforests, welcome back!),
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your comments esp. those who saw it. Well done.
Funny enough, I didn't see Bd4 as I didn't have much time to calculate possibel refutations. I'd notice however the exposed king diagonal and once you saw that, working backwards to find the proper combination falls naturally into place.
cheers, everyone!
I was thinking on same line as blunder. Interesting position. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of Bxb2 instead of Re8. Nice puzzle.
